In a forceful press conference on December 5, 2025, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry labelled the rhetoric of Pakistan Tehreek‑e‑Insaf founder Imran Khan as a “creeping national security threat,” calling him mentally unstable and accusing him of spreading anti‑army sentiment. He warned that foreign‑linked propaganda and social‑media campaigns aimed at destabilising Pakistan would not be tolerated. He also defended the recent elevation of Field Marshal Asim Munir as Chief of Defence Forces, calling it a historic step toward stronger national defence.
