Pakistan Enters the Gaming Era – Govt to Launch First-Ever National E-Sports Policy!

Pakistan is finally giving its gamers the spotlight! The government announced it is drafting the country’s first National E-Sports Policy  — aiming to turn gaming from a “hobby” into a billion-rupee digital industry.
Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, revealed that over 60 million Pakistanis are involved in gaming directly or indirectly. The new policy will support professional tournaments, gaming studios, and content creators, and may even offer tax breaks and tech hubs for young developers.
Pakistan’s youth have dominated international events like Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, and Valorant — yet without an official system or sponsorships. This move could finally give legitimacy to the country’s growing E-sports scene, opening doors for scholarships, sponsorships, and international recognition.
Big picture: Pakistan is entering a new phase of digital culture — one where gamers become professionals and E-sports becomes policy.
